A new project is coming to Miami Worldcenter. Chicago-based Akara Partners has purchased a 1 acre lot for $18.85 million to develop a mixed-use project, Kenect. This tower will rise 38-stories and consist of 450 apartments, 10,000 sqft of retail space, and 20,000 sqft of co-working space. This rental community targeting active adults will offer various floor plans ranging from studios to 3 bedrooms and amenities including a garden and gym. Construction is expected to begin Q1 2021 with completion for 2023. This project is planning to be accompanied by a second tower in a later phase. Kenect will join other projects at Miami Worldcenter including Paramount with 512 condo residences, Caoba with 444 rental apartments, and CitizenM hotel with 348 rooms that is currently under construction. There are future plans to develop another ZOM Living 434-unit rental apartment tower and 500,000 sqft of office space.
